If you have followed the blog for a while, you would have seen the original sketch of Chiko. I am Chiko’s “aunt”. My good friends adopted him from SPCA a few years ago. We think he is a soft coated Wheaten Terrier. For the month of Movember, my friends are growing a moustache and so is Chiko, he really is. Below is his new hair cut showing off his moustache ;p
A special reblog and add on for an American dog sitting company dogvacay.com
They asked me to take part in the National Pet Cancer Awareness month as I love dogs. So here is more about Chiko.
I just drove back into the city after spending a few days in Penang. It wasn’t my usual restful trip. I had so many errands to do. I picked up my new eco bags I ordered from my printers. From my phone conversation with the printers, it sounded like they messed up the printing but they came out well. I was happy. I had a couple of friends with me so I played tour guide to them. Penang is all about the food and hospitality.
This morning, before we set off, as I was preparing my sketch of the day, my friend saw what I was posting and said this lovely quote.
Set Your Spirit Free: Happiness starts with a moo ~ Grembles
We don’t celebrate it here but for those who do Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Hanukah everyone. I am thankful for my friends and what I have.
Set Your Spirit Free: Behold the turtle. He makes progress only when he sticks his neck out ~ James Bryant Conan
Today I took my friends who are visiting me to the turtle sanctuary in Pantai Keracut in Taman Negara Penang. It is the season for turtles to lay eggs. The green turtles come to shore to lay eggs. They bury the eggs in the sand. Below are photos showing where the buried eggs are protected from poachers and a group of baby turtles. They are about a week old and will be released back into the ocean tomorrow.
I think we are our harshest critics. Well I am anyway. I am better now. Before I started this challenge, I didn’t think I was good enough to draw but after starting this sketch of the day challenge, it’s starting to sink in that it’s ok not to be perfect as long as I am improving and continuously moving forward. We all have to start somewhere and it is good to learn to from our mistakes.
To start of the this week I thought I would share this quote. Set Your Spirit Free ~ “The most simple things can bring the most happiness”
As you are reading this I’m probably on my 4 hour car drive up North to check on my bag production. Fingers crossed they will be delivered on time and hope they turn out well. It’s always very tense for me around this time. If it goes well, I will post some photos of my new bags.
Set Your Spirit Free: Being different is what makes you unique
My post is getting shorter as my free time is getting more precious. More packing to do and I haven’t even unpacked from Singapore. Sigh. I have to go check on my bag production and do those boring things.
