#sketch of the day no 424 in my #moleskine art journal: Ivy’s boss, the evil cat

This is another sketch I did in my moleskine art journal in Uluwatu, Bali. This cat is my friend Ivy’s cat who is always up to something. He’s not really evil but like to scheme. He follows me into the kitchen and looks for food and attention. I guess he’s just being himself ;p

Falling in love with Bali all over again

I spent a week in Bali. I had previously fallen out of love with Bali and hadn’t been back in 3 years but I wanted to go surf so I made a trip there last week. I stayed in Canggu and Uluwatu this time round, avoiding Seminyak and Petitenget areas where I used to always stay because it is where the great restaurants and cool bars are located but it has become really commercial over the years and super crowded with the worse traffic. I decided to stop going there. Canggu on the other hand is simple still, quiet with enough good restaurants to keep my happy. Uluwatu down south is a bit harsher and arid. I don’t like it as much but the surf there is good.

When the time is right, I am moving there. I have fallen in love with Bali all over again 🙂

This sketch of the day in my moleskine art journal of a yellow Frangipani flower with the positive quote: See the beauty in simple things was done in Uluwatu, Canggu last week after one morning surfing session. The flowers are from the garden at the place I was staying at. I love nature and flowers as most of you know by now.

Have a good day xoxo

I was a week in Bali. This sketch of Balinese condiments in my moleskine art journal was done after my surf lesson in Canggu. I went to the local warung (cafe) and had a muesli with fruits and yoghurt for brunch.

My recent trip to Bali was on Malaysian Airlines. Despite all that has happened I still support them. This is a sketch of the plane in my moleskine art journal whilst waiting in the lounge for my flight. I love to draw wherever I go. I only loaded the sketches now because I was limited to wifi where I was. You will see them here this week xx

Wishing all my Hindu friends Happy Diwali. May the light shine on you xx

Happy Diwali
Happy Diwali Wishing my Hindu Friends a happy Diwali.  May the light shine on you always.

Wishing my Hindu Friends a happy Diwali. In Malaysia it is a public holiday tomorrow so I am currently sitting on the beach relaxing, maybe sketching, maybe surfing. I need the break. Sorry if I do not reply until next week.

May the light shine on you always xoxo

Wishing you love and light for Diwali. Diwali Greetings.

Diwali also known as Deepavali and the “festival of lights“, is an ancient Hindu festival celebrated in autumn every year. The festival spiritually signifies the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, good over evil, and hope over despair. The festival preparations and rituals typically extend over a five day period, but the main festival night of Diwali coincides with the darkest, new moon night of the Hindu Lunisolar month Kartika.

Before Diwali night, people clean, renovate and decorate their homes. On Diwali night, Hindus dress up in new clothes or their best outfit, light up diyas (lamps and candles) inside and outside their home, participate in family puja typically to Lakshmi – the goddess of wealth and prosperity. After puja (prayers), fireworks follow , then a family feast including mithai (sweets), and an exchange of gifts between family members and close friends. Diwali also marks a major shopping period in nations where it is celebrated ~ Wikipedia
