I spent the afternoon at my friend’s house painting their dog and cat on the exterior wall of their house. I painted the animals using a brush and water based acrylic paints. If you follow my sketch a day, you would have seen these characters before.
My other friends used spray paint. I was a bit envious of their free form art. You can feel the energy in the works. I may have to try it next time.
Today’s sketch of the day in my moleskine art journal using my sharpie pens is a positive statement: Start your day with a big smile. When you wake up feeling positive, the rest of your day will be better too. Try it 🙂
Today’s sketch of the day in my moleskine art journal using my sharpie pens is a bunch of fresh organic tumeric. Fresh Tumeric is good for your health. It has anti cancer, anti inflammatory and anti bacterial properties. I was so excited to draw this because I didnt know what fresh tumeric looked like until now. I have been using the powder tumeric and was told that this is way better. It looks like ginger but yellow/orange in colour.
I make it into a drink everyday. Try it! It will be a good boost this festive season.
Sometimes I still dream….the December issue of Harper’s Bazaar Malaysia is out on the news stand and I’m so excited and thankful to share this article with you. I am featured in Malaysia’s Most Stylish Women 2014. As a Penang born bohemian artist, I am grateful to be noticed as stylish as well 🙂
I have to thank the team at Harper’s Bazaar for my make up and styling. I have never looked this good!
Happy Thanksgiving. I have good reason to be thankful this year 🙂
Today’s sketch in my moleskine art journal using my faithful sharpie pens, is a little caterpillar I saw my friend post up on facebook. It’s so cute it already looks draw. I simply had to (re)draw him. It makes me smile it’s so ridiculously cute!!! I googled weird looking caterpillars and this little fella came up immediately. It is called a spicebush swallowtail or scientic name is Papilio troilus.
Nature does have a sense of humour with the creation of all these weird and wonderful creatures!
Have a happy day and Happy thanksgiving and don’t eat any turkeys!! xoxo
Today’s sketch of the day in my moleskine art journal is what I am currently doing. A liver flush to reset my body. It gets rid of gallstones and resets your digestive system, which is the basis of our health.
I sneaked back to Canggu in Bali last week for 8 days for a small surf trip. I went alone to practice my surfing. Well, I asked everyone I knew and nobody wanted to go with me, so I had to go alone. Sometimes, it is necessary to walk the path alone in order to grow.
It was a challenging week, mentally and physically. I have traveled alone before, but not often. It isn’t easy I must admit. It takes a while to get into the groove of not knowing anyone and being alone most of the time. It took me a few days to settle in. I would have loved to have stayed longer but I had to come home.
I woke up at 6am everyday to go for a 2 hour surf session before the wind picked up. Some days I did a late afternoon session as well but I didn’t want to exhaust myself. I was on holiday after all.
I spent the days checking out the local cafes and restaurants on my bike. I went to a few more but my phone kept running out of battery.
Canggu is a small sleepy surf area in bali. It’s still relatively unspoilt. There is a small expat community here. I guess they flock here for the surf, healthy lifestyle and the yoga and art scene. The restaurants focus on organic and healthy food. The whole place is really chill and laid back. I like the energy of this place, which is why I made a second back to back trip. I doubt it will stay like this for long. The pace of development in Bali is ferocious. Everyone is in real estate here. The tourists keep flocking in.
I will have to enjoy this little corner of quiet Bali while it lasts….
Today’s sketch of the day in my molesekine art journal using my sharpie pens is birds of paradise flower to brighten up a gloomy rainy day here in Malaysia. The monsoon season has started and it will be rain, and more rain. Uff! 😦
