As the year ends, it is time to reflect once more before we leap forward into the new year. It has been a roller coaster year for me. Lots of work done for myself and for charity. I completed my sketch a day challenge and have continued with my daily sketches and I hope it has inspired you to take up a challenge of your own.
Thank you for following my blog and supporting me through my ups and downs throughout my journey this year. I appreciate every single one of you and I treasure the friendships I have made here.
Ring out the old, ring in the new. May there be peace and light in our world.
A quick sketch in my moleskine art journal of feathers. I love feathers. I don’t know why. They are just so pretty. I will be travelling the next few days and I’m not sure if the internet will be any good to post anything but I will try 🙂
Today’s sketch in my moleskine is of an orange and white stripe moth I spotted in Borneo. There were so many pretty insects there. There were also some pretty ugly ones. Life is a balance after all. If you look carefully, there is beauty all around.
Escape is an eco friendly outdoors adventure theme park in Penang. On boxing day, my girlfriend and I escaped the rain to try this adventure. It was incredibly fun. The place is set in the forest and it is very green. The activities are challenging and diverse appealing to both kids and adults.
Below are some photos of what they have. You can swing from trees, climb like a monkey, join the flying circus, zip through the forest, slide done a hill, squeeze through tunnels and challenge yourself on obstacle courses in the air!
What an incredible day! I’m going again!
“ESCAPE is a world-class tourism destination that provides loads of fun and adventure while promoting eco-friendly values.
ESCAPE derives its meaning from the activities of childhood’s past and the integration of these into the modern age. Days playing in outdoors, splashing around in rivers and nights spent camping under the stars are all happy influences and memories.
At ESCAPE, we subscribe to the notion that growing up is optional. There are no rules here, just act like a child and have fun!”
Today’s sketch of the day are two flowers floating along the river. Like the flowing river by Paulo Coelho is one of my favourite books. I did this sketch because this is how I feel like today. The flowers represent my friend Lily and I, just floating down the river and taking everything in as we encounter them day by day. We cannot control what comes but we can steer around obstacles and embrace the good. Soon all will pass and new experiences will appear like a new landscape. The rain will pass and the sun will shine again.
Today’s sketch of the day is simon the snowman Wishing you a merry Christmas from the tropics. This year is the first time I am celebrating without my mum and dad or my family. Here is to a new tradition, introducing my new island family. They have made my life incredibly happy this difficult year. Thank you to you too my friends here on wordpress. You have been a huge support in my life. For that I am grateful.
Merry Christmas! May there be light, love and peace to everyone xoxo
I’m going to leave you with my animal farm Christmas series. I’m going to have to pause for now. No more sketches of the day until maybe next year! I need a break to focus on a new project which I only have 3 weeks to complete.
