“ISTANBUL’74 is pleased to present the ‘Loulou de la Falaise’ Jewellery Exhibition and the Book Signing with the attendance of Ariel de Ravenel, editor of the book and the executive of ‘Loulou de la Falaise’s jewellery collection. The jewellery exhibition and a selection of photographs from the book ‘Loulou de la Falasie’ will be on display between April 30th – May 16th at ISTANBUL’74 Galatasaray.
Renowned for her effortless bohemian chic, as well as for her wit, Loulou de la Falaise was not only an influential fashion muse, but also an elegant pixie in the serious world of Parisian haute couture. The Anglo-French beauty assisted the designer Halston and modeled briefly for Vogue before moving to Paris in 1972 to work alongside Yves Saint Laurent. A true original, Loulou’s sense of color and fantasy, and her soigné attitude would energize the mythic designer for over thirty years.

With a foreword by Pierre Bergé, Saint Laurent’s long-time partner, and interviews with Loulou’s intimates including Betty Catroux, Inès de la Fressange, Diane von Furstenberg, Christian Louboutin, Elsa Peretti, Paloma Picasso, André Leon Talley, and Oscar de la Renta, this elegant volume is a life in pictures, with over 400 images by legendary contemporary photographers, from Helmut Newton and Richard Avedon to Steven Meisel,
Michael Roberts, and Bettina Rheims.
The photographs featured at the book ‘Loulou de la Falaise’ and the Loulou’s own jewellery desings will be exhibited at ISTANBUL’74 Galatasaray between April 30th-May 16th. Loulou’s incredible personal style, celebrated from the ’60s until her untimely death in November 2011, provides her with a permanent spot in the pantheon of strong, inspirational women whose influence is timeless.

About ARIEL de RAVENEL

Ariel de Ravenel started working as fashion editor and free-lance stylist for many publications among which Vogue Paris, Vogue US, UK and Germany as well as Harper’s Bazaar. She has continued her fashion career by working beside some the most renowned fashion designers including Kenzo and Yves Saint Laurent. Finally she started consulting, helped Loulou de la Falaise by the creation and launch of her own brand and worked together until she passed away in 2011.
Currently she is managing Loulou de la Falaise jewelry brand and working with designer Olivier Theyskens.
