Haha. That would explain our massive debt.

Well this was probably done before they had nothing to invest!

Glad to hear that the French still invest in something. Haha!

The French invest a lot of money into the chair lifts n pistes. It just makes a difference.

“Informative”? hmmm. Sounds “Geeky”. 🙂 (can’t help my overflowing memory) (And the worse is, I also remember so many useless details…) 😦
April 2, 2016 at 00:26
Hmmm? Why would that be? (Puzzled)
March 31, 2016 at 12:56
Ya I could but I’d rather not ski in Italy. Just saying….😆
You are always informative. Thank you for that piece of history and knowledge 🙏

Never been to Les Arcs. Just checked it up. Bourg St-maurice. Last year you were in Chamonix. In both cases you could practically ski your way to Italy. Almost. 😉

Absolutely. Actually Savoie belonged to Italy until the 19th century I think. (Lemme check… yes, 1860. fairly recent) So borders were not really borders. And in fact the people from savoie have the tiniest accent, a bit similar to the Swiss. 8Don’t tell them that!)
March 28, 2016 at 21:49
Yes it was a subject of debate where fondue and raclette came from but I can imagine in the old days the French Swiss border mattered less and the mountain region.

I understand you are a “shroom” addict. Now that you are in France, in the odd chance that you might skiing again, you can enjoy a “Raclette”? Or a “fondue Savoyarde”? (The Savoyards claim that the Swiss stole their fondue. The Swiss argue to the contrary) 🙂

March 24, 2016 at 01:30

(Hmmm. Une omelette aux champignons…)
(Do you eat eggs, being vegetarian?)
