How’s everyone doing today?
It’s day 15/30 Covid 19 lockdown here in Malaysia and I’m continuing with my balcony bird series of daily sketches to stay sane.

Kelly the Kingfisher

Kelly the Kingfisher

Today is day 14/30 of covid-19 lockdown. We’re now halfway through, and finally I feel that i have eased into the rhythms of staying home and appreciating nature from my balcony. I’m grateful for having a balcony to get some illusions of being outdoors.

Sketch of the day no 1324 in my moleskine sketchbook is of Kelly the Kingfisher.

She doesn’t actually come to my balcony often but i can always see her in the distance, sitting on a tree, or flitting around, always alert. She’s a good hunter.

Year of the pig

Ta da da. The final one. Last but not least. What’s your zodiac?

The sociable and optimistic pig is the twelfth in the cycle in the Chinese zodiac 🐷

I’ve been working on the Chinese zodiac series and finally they are finished. It’s been a busy start to the year and I’m thankful to be pushed into doing this series and I’m so happy to see them all come together. Hope you enjoyed watching this unfold.

Dog and cat Christmas cards

Dogs and cat Christmas cards

More Christmas cheer. Tis indeed the season of giving.

Christmas cards printed by Penang Stray rescue society. Drawings by me.

100% of profits go to Penang Stray rescue society to help feed 200 dogs 🐶

I’m so happy these old drawings have been used for something good. Sometimes my art just sits patiently in the sidelines for someone to find them, and this is the perfect match. 🌈🐶

100% of proceeds will be donated to help 200 dogs from the Penang Stray rescue society.

It’s the festive season and it’s a time for giving and caring.
I posted this painting of Sheba the French bulldog up for sale on my FB a couple of days ago to raise funds for my friend’s stray dog rescue shelter, and thankfully another kind hearted friend snapped it up immediately. Thank you.

This is an important painting because it is the first time I am using the gold leaf given to me from the Thai temple recently. It was a huge blessing and the best gift as I’ve been looking for gold leaf for a long time. That auspicious day, I vowed to myself that I will donate back to the community for every piece of gold leaf I use. 🙏
