Sketch of the day no 697 in my art journal is a flyer for my friends pop up bar. The Lotus Lounge, Penang

Sketch of the day in my art journal is a flyer for my friends pop up bar. The Lotus Lounge at 92 Love lane, Penang. A last minute decision to chase away the Monday blues and to celebrate George Town Festival our own way!

We even managed to make some last minute merchandise for ourselves and guerilla marketing in less than 24 hours. I made the flyer in the early morning, printed it out and we stuck it in town. Cut out stencils for the t shirts which we bought at the local mydin store. All made in Penang with love. We also recruited a chef from Belgium who served up healthy chicken and veggie wraps and a few artists provide a creative vibe 🙂

It’s like magic when we work together as a team xoxo

Crochet bombing crafty street art by Magda Sayeg on Armenian street, George town, Penang

imageI spotted this crochet vintage VW caravan on one of my regular walks around George Town heritage site. (quite hard not to spot)

It is by crochet/yarn bombing queen Magda Sayeg. Check out her website Www.magdasayeg.com

I’m not sure how long it took her but my fingers would have seized up after an hour of crocheting!

This is the final one I have for now of my mum’s painted stool series. It is a teddy bear bride, which is apt since I just came back from Thailand to celebrate the wedding of my dearest friends x

I’m a bit late in the day for my post today. Another painted stool from my mum’s collection.

I’m back in the city and I just had the longest but most amazing day catching up with some of my  closest friends I haven’t seen in more than a month. I randomly bumped into a few people whilst doing my groceries because all slots for breakfast, lunch and dinner were filled up. I must be old because I feel exhausted. This unexpectedly social day is rare for me these days as I hardly go out. I have started to be a real recluse which is not always such a good thing.

Daisies. Art Chair by Ling #5

I just noticed that my mum dates her work. This one is marked 04 which makes it 10 years old! She didn’t paint often but she consistently painted over the years. She would paint things and give them away to her friends. She never painted commercially. Just as her hobby.

Roses. Art chair by Ling #4

Another addition to the Art Chair series by my mum. This is a pretty painting of bunch of roses. I hope you are enjoying it as much as I am 🙂
