Take a walk on the wild side.
Digital drawing today is of Stephen the Seagull.
Happy Friday! Be free as a bird.
Digital drawing today is of a white breasted Kingfisher (Halcyon smyrnensis) on a mission 🌞🕊️🐦
If you follow my posts regularly you would have seen the original sketch from my moleskine sketchbook. This fella lives in my garden in Penang and flits around between the trees.
Stewart the seagull returns to the beautiful island of Penang after travelling thousands of miles to Istanbul and London.
This spray paint stencil art of Stewart the seagull first appeared on the island of Buyukada in Istanbul, and then Kasimpasa in Istanbul. The beauty of stencil art is that it takes less than 5 mins and someone else can do the dirty job! This one is done by Jason for Gusto Cafe Penang.
Long live Stewart xoxo
Stewart the seagull is now back at Gusto Cafe, hillside, Penang. He started his journey here and flew to Istanbul and back!
Im so happy to bring Stewart the seagull to Istanbul and finally he has landed safely. I set out to bring him home to Istanbul and finally it has happened. Stewart the seagull started off his flight from the island of Penang and now he is on the island of Buyukada, Istanbul. He has many friends here and I’m sure he will be happy in his new home.
Stewart the seagull started off as a street art piece on a wall on 75 Stewart Lane in Penang. He lasted 2 years before he was painted over. Stewart then relocated to Gusto Cafe, Hillside, Penang where he is currently residing. Now, Stewart the seagull can be seen as part of Istanbul street art. I am sure he is happy here with the rest of the seagulls and birds.
Watch over the city and keep it safe my friend x
I’m not the only artist in the family. My mum painted too. Here is one of her bird paintings. She loved nature, her garden and the birds in them.
This is a fairly large painting. Acrylic on canvas. There are quite a few more. I will post them up slowly 🙂
Thank you very much to you my friends who have supported me during this time of loss and grieving for my mum. I have had really bad days and good ones. It has been a rollercoaster of emotions for me. I’m not great at sharing my feelings but I am trying to. It has been 4 months now and it gets better because I know her memory lives on xx
This little fella is always flying around in the garden. It’s blue and orange and darts around the area.
