Portrait commission for my December charity drive #3

Portrait commission for December

And it’s a wrap for 2020. 🎉
My third and final completed portrait commission, should be arriving in the UK anytime now.
Thank you to my friend Amanda for supporting my December charity drive ♥
For December, I’m donating 50% of all portrait commissions to my charity of choice, which is the House of Hope in Penang.
It is a community centre that helps the hardcore poor by giving them somewhere to go for food, for help and their children are cared for and sent to school. More importantly it’s a safe space to make sure people within the community are looked after.
The lady who runs this place has been doing this for a long time and I know that every penny donated is given back into running this centre.

This charity connects me to my own dad who passed away 8 years ago. He did a lot of work for people in this constituency and he taught me to always give back.

Portrait commission for my December charity drive #2

Portrait commission

My second completed portrait commission of my art patron.
She’s been asking me to paint her ever since I started painting second season of portrait artist of the week but I kept refusing, until finally last week I said yes. Thank you for pushing me out of my comfort zone and supporting my December charity drive ♥

Have a beautiful week 🌹

Mr Skull: evolve or die

Mr Skull and universal basic income

I painted Mr Skull during the presidential elections to stay awake to follow the results and it was the longest week.
I was given the painting of the skull head  from my friend Gorka, to use as a recycled canvas but I decided to keep the original painting and hack it instead like a collaboration.

I changed the background colour, added the USD100 note and added the universal basic income message by Andrew Yang on it. Then I added a gold leaf tooth to Mr Skull and a gold zipper in the background to symbolize change. Basically evolve or die.

Portrait artist of the week: Lesley Garrett

Portrait of Lesley Garrett

Sunday is my favourite day because it’s portrait artist of the week on Sky arts live.
Today’s celebrity sitter is opera singer Lesley Garrett. I wonder what she’s thinking…
This is my completed portrait.

Have a creative week everyone ❤️❤️❤️

Odette, Paris

Odette, Paris

Who knew that In 2020, one could only dream of summer getaways and city breaks. I haven’t travelled or left the city since lockdown in March. I had a few work trips planned but the second lockdown kicked in.
It’s been such a challenging year mentally and emotionally but I am grateful for commissions like this. In fact, this painting has travelled more than me this year.

Thank you everyone for supporting my art. Liking and sharing my works and having an audience matter too.
I am thankful. ❤️❤️
Stay well my friends.

Portrait of the week : Jon snow

Portrait of C4 journalist Jon Snow

Happy fullmoon.

Lockdown cabin fever has been getting to me. I have my ups and downs but it’s definitely important to be aware of what’s happening sooner than later. I’ve just finished my 2 week wobbly.

Thank you for the portrait of the week painting series to set me straight every Sunday. Today’s portrait of the week is of journalist Jon Snow. I definitely feel much saner after this painting session.
It’s a quick portrait before Sunday dinner. I’m not going to touch it anymore because I find I tend to overwork them.

Portrait of the week: Samira Ahmed.
“Samira Ahmed is a British journalist, writer and broadcaster at the BBC, where she has presented Radio 3’s Night Waves and Radio 4’s PM, The World Tonight, Sunday and Front Row and has presented the Proms for BBC Four. “Wikipedia
I had to Google who this amazing person was as I watched and listened to the live stream of Portrait artist of the week. I love how this show gives a platform to not only artists but the sitters are always someone interesting and accomplished in their field.
